Dancing with the STAARs!
In All Content Areas
Beginning in spring 2012, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™) will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). The name change reflects a shift in focus from current achievement to assessment of academic readiness for future success. This shift brings a tighter alignment between the taught and tested curriculum by testing current grade level TEKS and by aligning the rigor of the test item with the rigor of the TEKS to ensure that students are prepared well for college, career, and life. We have gathered numerous experts both locally and nationally to convene in one place and share research driven, meaningful and fun strategies to ensure success in the core content areas that include, math, science, social studies, English language arts, reading, and technology.
