Invitation for Proposal
October 14, 2011
The fourteenth annual Academy for Teachers of Young Children is planned for July 11-13, 2012 in El Paso, Texas. We would like to invite you to submit the attached Proposal for Presentation for the 2012 Academy. This conference is a joint effort with Education Service Centers in Regions 9, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 19 (Wichita Falls, Abilene, San Angelo, Lubbock, Midland and El Paso). On the right of the page please find information about the 2012 Academy proposal for your review and planning.
The Mission of the Academy is to provide a high quality training opportunity for professionals who work with all young children, infants through age five, served in a variety of settings. Training content is based on past Academy evaluations, statewide and regional data from the Texas Education Agency, Local Education Agencies, Head Start programs, Early Childhood Intervention programs, childcare providers, research in early childhood, and national trends. The format for Academy will include a variety of 6 hour and 3 hour sessions. Evaluations indicate that interactive presentations meet with more success. All sessions should align with the Academy 2012 Focus Areas.
We want to thank you in advance for your consideration in submitting a proposal to present at the 2012 Academy for Teachers of Young Children. It is a wonderful professional development opportunity that participants look forward to each year. Please feel free to call any committee member with questions or concerns. We would love to have you join us in El Paso!
