Alternative Certification Program
The Education Service Center - Region 19 Alternative Certification Program is proud to offer certifications through a non-traditional route for those interested in becoming Texas State Certified Teachers, Principals, School Counselors, and School Librarians. Applicants must have already completed a degree in any field (Bachelor's degree for teacher applicants, Master's degree for administrative applicants) before they can be accepted.
Now Accepting Applications for All Programs

Teacher Preparation & Certification Program (TPCP) is currently accepting applications for Math and Science content. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Counselor Alternative Program (CAP) Cohort 4 will begin in June 2013. The deadline for applications for Cohort 4 is May 2013.

Principal Alternative Certification Academy (PACA) Cohort 10 will begin in August 2013. Applications for Cohort 10 will be accepted throughout the year.

Librarian Alternative Certification (LACe) Cohort 2 will begin in March 2014. Applications for Cohort 2 will be accepted throughout the year.
TExES Content Training
Interested in obtaining additional certification?
Registration is now open for Special Education EC-12 and ESL EC-12 supplement training! Training will begin May 30, 2013. Please register on Click & Learn to save your spot in these special trainings. The Special Education training is event #14021, and the ESL training is event #14022.
Region 19 also periodically offers TExES content training for Generalist EC-6 and 4-8, Science 8-12, Math 8-12, Bilingual, and PPR EC-12. For more information, please call (915) 780-5065.

If you would like to have the opportunity to study from TEA-approved practice tests before taking your TExES exam, please log on to Click & Learn to register for up to six hours of study time at Region 19. Culture, Caring & the Classroom
