Step 2. Applicant Data

These forms need to be returned to falvarez@esc19.net.

Step 3. Formal Interview

You will be speaking to a member of the staff over the phone in regards to your interests and attitudes towards teaching. You will then take an online interview designed to measure your potential for teaching. We will retrieve that score and call you with your next step.

Step 4. Transcript Evaluation

Submit transcripts from all universities and colleges attended for individuals with undergraduate or graduate degrees from regionally accredited United States institutions of higher education, even if the transfer hours show up on one transcript. There is a $25.00 fee for this service. Once your report comes back, you will be notified of the next step.

Step 5. Pre-Admissions Content Test, PACT

Significant changes to Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §227.10 (a)(3)(C) were approved by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) on October 10, 2008. The new rule allows degreed individuals who have never been admitted to an SBEC-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) to take Pre-Admission Content Tests (PACT) to demonstrate content proficiency for possible admission into an EPP. Taking PACT does not ensure admittance into a program. Once we have received your Transcript Evaluation Results, we will contact you on how to sign up for the PACT. The PACT is the TExES /ExCET Exam, one of the tests that is required by the state of Texas to acquire your Teaching Certification.

Step 6. Application Packet

Step 7. Final Evaluation

After your file is complete, it will be evaluated for quality and your classroom teaching potential. Your professional recommendations will be reviewed. A decision will be rendered, and you will be notified of your status.
