Qualifications
The qualifying skills for this position are as follows: high school diploma or GED; 12 hours of college coursework toward a Child Development Credential (CDA) coursework (Staff members must obtain their CDA Credential within two years of their hired date); or possess a CDA Credential (Staff members that have not obtained an Associate Degree must keep their CDA Credential current and continue their education toward their Associate Degree with emphasis in Early Childhood or Child Development); or 12 college credit hours in Child Development (or a related field) and be pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood or a related field; Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field (preferred); experience working with preschool children; proficient in English and Spanish; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
Description
Plays a vital role in the early childhood development and success of all Head Start students by implementing the Head Start curriculum. Demonstrating instructional leadership, this educator positively impacts and drives the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a culture and classroom environment conducive to learning and early childhood development. The focus of this position, although not limited to this, is impacting early childhood development at the classroom level.
