Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
Qualifications
This position requires a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology or School Psychology as well as a Certificate from the Texas State Board of Examiner’s of Psychologists as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Demonstrated knowledge of Autism evaluation is preferred. Requires two years of educational experience. Must have strong communication and effective interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability in working with other administrators, teachers, students and parents. Bilingual in English/Spanish is required. Requires a valid driver’s license and other such alternatives deemed appropriate by the Executive Director.
Description
Funding provided on a year to year basis. Provides leadership and coordinates the provision of comprehensive psychological services in order to support and promote educational objectives for identified students. Conducts extensive psychological, autism and ADD/ADHD evaluations and counseling assessments of referred students according to federal and state guidelines. Interprets diagnoses to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents, and the student as permitted by confidentiality laws and Board policy. Assists the Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee in the development of an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for special education students.
