The Parent Involvement program promotes family/school/community partnerships. Our goal is to increase collaboration between families and schools in order to improve student achievement. This program coordinates activities for parents, parent coordinators/educators, teachers, counselors, administrators and others who work with parents including those of children with special needs to promote parental involvement at school and at home. This program also conducts workshops and conferences, maintains a resource library on parental involvement topics and provides networking opportunities for districts and community agencies.
Regional Parent Involvement Network Committee
Parent liaisons, volunteers, coordinators, etc. have been identified in each district and other community agencies, including UTEP, to participate in monthly meetings to share ideas and plan the annual Regional Parent Engagement Conference.
Regional Parent Engagement Conference
This is an annual one-day conference for parents and educators to address parent involvement in our schools and communities. Participants have the opportunity to hear two dynamic keynote speakers and attend at least two breakout sessions of their choice. Breakout sessions include a variety of knowledgeable and exciting presenters.
Parent Involvement Day
Education Service Center-Region 19 encourages schools within the region to celebrate and honor parents and family members in their districts. Texas promotes two days to honor families: Texas Parents Day (second Sunday in August) and National Parent Involvement Day (November 12).
