Low Incidence Disabilities Program
The Low Incidence Disabilities project provides technical assistance and training to districts and charter schools on identified innovative programs specifically related to students who are severely and profoundly cognitively disabled and medically fragile. This project assists in facilitating local and regional interagency and parent coordination to support services for students with low incidence disabilities. It also coordinates with the other education service centers (ESCs) in the 20 region network. The following products and services are provided:
• Development, implementation and evaluation of services and programs for students with low incidence disabilities and their families
• Implementation of the Three A’s of Active Learning Project (statewide initiative) by assisting district teams in assessment and development of programs and materials for students with low incidence disabilities
• Implementation of state and regional leadership initiatives and activities
• A resource center of materials including books, videos, curriculum, assessment protocols, assistive technology and much more in the area of low incidence disabilities.
