Education Service Center - Region 19 will provide Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) professional development to all eligible teachers, teacher leaders, and administrators. Professional development will be provided in both face-to-face and online formats and will be provided at no cost to participants.
PURPOSE/GOALS
In accordance with Rider 42b(i),42c,42d, Student Success Initiative, the purpose and goals of this grant are to:
Provide Math Academies training to all eligible participants. Math Academies will be offered to grades 5-8 math teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42b(i))
Provide ELPS Academies training to all eligible participants. ELPS Academies will be offered to bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers K-12 core content teachers, and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42d)
Provide Science Academies training to all eligible participants. Science Academies will be offered to grades 5-8 science teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide New Science TEKS training to all eligible participants. New Science TEKs training will be offered to grades K-12 science teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide English I End-of-Course Success training to all eligible teachers in grades 9-12. EOC Success for English I will be offered to English I teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide English II End-of-Course Success training to all eligible teachers in grades 9-12. English II EOC Success will be offered to English II teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide Algebra I End-of-Course Success training to all eligible teachers in grades 9-12. Algebra I EOC Success will be offered to Algebra I teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide Biology End-of-Course Success training to all eligible teachers in grades 9-12. Biology EOC Success
will be offered to Biology teachers and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide professional development training in other content area TEKS (e.g., Career and Technical Education [CTE] and Fine Arts) to eligible participants and appropriate teacher leaders/administrators. (Section 42c)
Provide all TEKS PD training in both face-to-face and online formats.
Provide online support to participants engaged in online learning.
