Migrant Services Coordinator
The Migrant Services Coordination Leader works closely with all migrant
program staff to coordinate all services provided by the Migrant Program
to students and their families, according to federal and state
guidelines and requirements. The MSC Leader disperses and obtains
important information regarding services to migrant students in
accordance to strict timelines and procedures. Some of the essential
function within the MSC is facilitating and coordinating all
information, tasks assigned, initial and follow-up referrals and
maintaining effective lines of communication with school district
recruiters and other staff.
Identification and Recruitment
Recruiters canvass homes in the various school districts and interview
parents to obtain eligibility information. Upon qualifying, a needs
assessment is completed, and referrals are made to appropriate staff.
The recruiters are the crucial point of contact between Region 19 ESC,
the Independent School District and the family.
