Thank you for your interest in employment with Education Service Center – Region 19. The following information is provided to assist you.
Please allow enough time to complete the online application. It is recommended you print the job announcement and this set of instructions before starting the application. It will also facilitate the application process if you have all important information available including transcripts, licenses, certifications, dates of past employments, references, etc. prior to getting started.
The recommended way to complete the application is to fill in all fields on a page in the order presented. When the fields are complete, use the CONTINUE button at the bottom to go to the next step. The step index on the left side of each page will keep you informed of your progress. The current section will be highlighted.
Fields may be required or they may be optional. Required fields are indicated with an *. Your application will not be accepted until all required fields are complete.
If you have previously applied online for a different position, please access and update your application for each new posting. Under “Jobs,” click on the new position you would like to apply for. If you are updating a previous application, please update each screen and attach the required documents.
Applicants who previously submitted a paper application must now reapply online in order to be considered for employment. All required documentation must be attached, and every screen must be completed in order for the application to be considered. To apply, click on “New Applicant” on the left and then follow the instructions.
Please be aware that your application will become inactive 180 days after the initial date of application.

Professional Application Requirements

Auxiliary, Paraprofessional and Substitute Application Requirements

- CDL and/or Food Handler's Card if required for the position
Clerical testing is required for paraprofessional positions. Applicants who qualify to take the clerical test will be notified of the testing site, date and time by the ESC-R19 Department of Human Resources staff.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please complete all sections of the application including work history.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
It is the applicant’s responsibility to print five copies of the Reference Form that follows these instructions. The applicant should distribute three of the forms to immediate or previous employment supervisors and two of the forms to personal references (may be a neighbor, friend, clergy, co-worker, etc.). The reference forms must be returned to the Human Resources Department although they may be returned separately and may be submitted individually to ESC – Region 19 by mail.Required documents must be received by the Human Resources Department on or before the date and time specified on the job advertisement. Applications received after the posted deadline will not be considered.
Once the position closes, all applications are screened based upon all required qualifications on the job posting.
NOT ALL APPLICANTS ARE GUARANTEED AN INTERVIEW. Only those who are selected by the committee will be invited for an interview. When a decision has been reached on which individuals will be selected for an interview, the applicant will be contacted by phone and an interview date will be coordinated.
ESC-REGION 19 POSITIONS: Once a final decision has been reached, a recommendation for employment will be forwarded to the Executive Director. Upon approval, a human resources department staff member will contact the prospective candidate to make an official job offer.
HEAD START POSITIONS: Once a final decision has been reached, a recommendation for employment will be presented to the Policy Council. Policy Council meets once a month. Once Policy Council approves the recommendation for employment, it will be forwarded to the Executive Director. Upon approval, a human resources department staff member will contact the prospective candidate to make an official job offer.
An orientation date, time and starting date will be coordinated.
Applicants, who were invited for an interview but were not selected will receive a courtesy letter on the outcome of the position for which they applied. All others will not receive a courtesy letter.
PROVISION OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER
As part of the employment process, you are being asked to provide your social security number. In accordance with The Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. 552a, disclosure of your social security number is optional except for purposes of receiving wages; however, failure to provide it may result in processing delays if we have multiple applicants with the same or similar names.In accordance with the United States federal tax code and regulations 26 U.S.C. 6011 and 26 CFR 31.6011(b)-(2), once an applicant receives an offer of employment, he/she shall show his/her social security card to ESC –Region 19, the employer, for purposes of receiving wages and withholding income taxes. See also Tax Reform Act of 1976, 42 U.S.C. 405 (c) (2) (i).
Should you elect to disclose your social security number for reasons other than receiving wages and withholding taxes, those reasons would include: (1) Submission to the Safe Schools Project for purposes of performing mandatory criminal background checks; (2) Submission to the Texas State Board for Educator Certification for purposes of determining your professional or other licensure status; and (3) Submission to the Texas Department of Public Safety Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse of Texas (FACT).
Should ESC – Region 19 require your social security number for any other purpose not listed above, we will obtain your consent beforehand.
