Educator Testing

Texas law requires that educators pass appropriate tests to become certified. The office of Educator Testing oversees testing requirements for the state of Texas.

Military Community

Effective September 1, 2015 the TEA will waive certain fees for eligible military service members, military veterans, and military spouses.

Teacher Attrition by LEA Size 2016-17 through 2020-21

This report shows teacher attrition, aggregated by local education agency (LEA, i.e., a school district or charter school organization) size, for all standard certified
teachers in Texas. Teachers who were not certified or were teaching with non-standard certificates were excluded from the analysis.

Employed and Certified Teachers by Preparation Route 2014-15 through 2020-21

This table shows the number of teachers with standard and lifetime certificates who were employed in the Texas public school system on a half-time
or more basis, aggregated by preparation route of initial certification, for the last five academic years.
