TPCP Cycle 40 will begin in September 2018. Applications for Cycle 40 are currently being accepted, deadline for applications is August 1, 2018.

The Teacher Preparation and Certification Program (TPCP) was originally implemented to prepare non-certified teachers to fill shortages in critical need areas and to provide entry into the teaching profession for qualified individuals wishing to make a career change.

This program is a field-based training model in which competencies are learned from a variety of specialist. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, internship, program recommendations and a passing score on all necessary TExES exams, participants will earn a Texas teaching certificate specific to their area of study.
