Are you a certified teacher with a Master's degree and interested in becoming a school librarian? The ESC - Region 19 Librarian Alternative Certification (LACe) accepts applications throughout the year. Please see the LACe Program Requirements for more information.

The LACe program is intended to aid districts in filling Texas School Librarian positions with outstanding librarians who are highly trained, committed, dedicated and who have exceptional skills necessary to work with a diverse student population.

The goal of LACe is to give individuals a quality and realistic certification program for Texas School Librarians. Interns will leave LACe certified as Texas School Librarian All Levels. They will also leave having developed a network of contacts necessary to help our region’s students, including the relationship developed with their mentor librarian at their respective internship campus.

The LACe program vows to continue the excellent track record of preparing, certifying, and supporting educators and librarians to meet the staffing needs of the districts served within the region.

Currently, the LACe program classes are completed 100% via Zoom. Out of region applicants are welcomed to apply.
