    Dr. Kennedy is a Texas educator with over thirty years of experience in teaching in multilingual classrooms, preschool through adult. Trilingual in English, Spanish, and German, Dr. Kennedy is passionate about the importance of providing English learners in Texas the opportunity to develop their primary language(s) to a high degree while also becoming strong communicators in oral and written English. Dr. Kennedy is one of the authors of the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education, 3rd edition (2018) and has published articles and book chapters on bilingual education topics. She served as a bilingual elementary teacher and administrator in the Austin area and was Director of Dual Language/Bilingual at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC, for four years, where she had the opportunity to work with program directors, campus principals, and classrooms teachers across the country on program implementation and best practices in English learner pedagogy. Dr. Kennedy currently serves as Director of English Learner Support at the Texas Education Agency in Austin, Texas.

    Dr. José Medina: Educational Solutions

    Dr. José L. Medina is the founder and Chief Educational Advocate at Dr. José Medina: Educational Solutions. Prior to establishing his own educational consulting firm, Dr. Medina served as the Director of Dual Language Education and Bilingual Education at the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) in Washington DC. José provides dual language technical assistance, professional development, and job-embedded support to dual language programs across the United States and globally. He is a former dual language school principal and has served as an administrator and educator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Dr. Medina is one of the authors of the third edition of the widely-used Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education.
