Beam Ceremony- ESC19 Construction Milestone!

El Paso, Texas (April 23, 2021) — In commemoration of the last steel beam being put into place at the top of the sixth floor, Education Service Center Region 19 celebrated with a beam signing ceremony on April 22 at 1PM for the new events center located next to the El Paso International Airport.

Since it’s groundbreaking in February 2020, the amazing construction progress has been hard to miss as the enormous construction crane sours high above Airway/Boeing intersection area. This was a historic milestone for ESC19 who has been hosting events for decades at both their service center on Boeing Drive and the Multi-Purpose Center on Chito Samaniego and now at the new larger special events building set to open in November 2021.

ESC19 Executive Directors, Board Members and Administrators signed their names on the last steel beam right before it was put into place by the high soaring BTC construction crane.

The six-story parking structure and special events venue will represent the innovative future of hybrid virtual & in person meetings and events. With almost 50,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, the building’s unique architecture will feature panoramic views of the beautiful Franklin Mountains, airport and surrounding cityscapes. Equipped with state-of-the art networking and audio/visual capabilities, large scale events requiring strong connectivity & high power will find excellent service at ESC19’s new center.

The first floor’s commercial kitchen and dining gallery is expected to be a popular spot for guests to dine & recharge their digital devices.

The parking will accommodate approximately 650 spaces for vehicles.

The top floor will host a gamut of special events such as Industry Expos, from gaming to manufacturing; wedding receptions; local & national conferences; education professional development; entertainment events and more!

“This new conference center will be transformative for the size & complexity of events we can host. It significantly expands our ability to serve our growing community & attract national conventions,” said Dr. Armando Aguirre, ESC19 Executive Director.

The beam ceremony was held at 1:00PM near the intersection of Boeing Drive and Continental Street.
