El Paso, Texas (AUGUST 29, 2024) – ESC Region 19 held the 3rd Annual Sun City EdTech Conference at the Starlight Event Center. Educators, IT Professionals, CTE Coordinators, and a over 40 vendors.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Starlight Event Center at 6650 Continental Drive, the Sun City EdTech Conference aimed to be a comprehensive platform for addressing the critical issues facing education in the digital age. Bringing major edtech and IT companies down such as Google, BenQ, and
TCEA, based in Austin, TX, is an organization dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through the use of technology. With over 80,000 members worldwide, they aim to support educators in Texas and around the world in bridging the gap between technology and education.
"Our goal is to make using technology efficient and easy for teachers." Dr. Bruce Ellis, Director of Professional Development, TCEA tells us, "You have a lot of teachers who depend on the area to provide them with professional development. Unfortunately, districts can't always provide everything for all of their teachers. The Sun City EdTech Conference really allows them to get a broader range of sessions and expertise."

Just the fact that I have IT directors, CTO's, campus/district level administrators sharing that they needed this conference here in El Paso because of the fact that there's not really a technology event happening in the region."
