Sierra Blanca ISD Ebby Loeffler named ESC 19 Superintendent of the Year

Evelyn Loeffler

El Paso, Texas (June 20, 2017)—Sierra Blanca Independent School District Superintendent
Evelyn Bramblett Loeffler has been named the 2019 ESC-Region 19 Superintendent of the
Year for her achievements and excellence as a public school administrator.

“When I entered the district in 2015, it was a school in need of improvement,” said Loeffler who has worked in public education for over 26 years. “After the A-F Accountability System was implemented, we were an F school. With amazing support from Region 19 and my colleagues, our district was able to move from an F to a B. While that is great, the very best thing is the change in our students’ mindsets. As they began to experience new successes, they have grasped for new opportunities. They are becoming a group of high achievers. The look on their faces as they celebrate reaching each new milestone is my greatest reward”.

Loeffler will go on to represent the region in the state program. The state Superintendent of the Year Award will be presented at the 2019 Texas Association of School Administrators/Texas Association of School Boards (TASA/TASB) Annual Convention in Dallas, Texas. “We are fortunate to have such dedicated superintendents within Region 19,” said Dr. Armando Aguirre, Education Service Center Region 19 Executive Director. “Congratulations to Evelyn Loeffler.”

In battling typical small rural town woes, such as declining enrollment, Loeffler is proud of the Sierra Blanca community’s dedication and commitment to education improvement.

“Our school board has also done tremendous work that made these accomplishments possible. They have spent many long hours in training and in meetings becoming an outstanding governing body. They have been through the Lone Star Governance training, and are currently the top board in the state on the Lone Star Governance Leaderboard,” Leoffler said. “Our school is boldly moving forward… We determinedly work through an ever-evolving continuous improvement process in our school, but we see that we are going to be called to an arena of community development in order to provide the amazing opportunities we provide to an even larger audience. We have begun reaching out to our community to move forward on many community issues, and we are determined that the town of Sierra Blanca will also experience growth and development that will make it an attractive opportunity for families”.
