TEA College and Career and Military Prep Listening Tour
Posted by Angela Saavedra on 1/17/2019
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) College and Career and Military Preparation (CCMP) Division visited ESC Region 19 as part of a statewide listening tour to receive parent opinions about the development of statewide programs for STEM education and Work-based Learning (WBL).
TEA members met with administrators, workforce representatives, and institutions of higher education to gather information and feedback around creating meaningful cross-sector partnerships and ensuring students are successful in post-secondary endeavors.
The team is working to gather information and feedback from stakeholders across the state on the major components of Perkins V, as well as current challenges and areas of success around implementing and expanding high-quality STEM and Work-based Learning to all students in Texas.
The information brought up during the Listening Tour will determine the direction the state moves over the next few years in STEM education.
