Special Events Coordinator

Qualifications

 

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Hotel Management, or other related field.  Related certifications preferred.  Must have strong communication and effective interpersonal skills; skills in developing and coordinating successful events; experience with providing training to varied audiences.  Necessitates effective communication skills to ensure the delivery of quality products and services; involves the ability to work in teams and be highly functional in cooperative endeavors.  Previous budget and program management experience is preferred.  Must have computer knowledge/abilities to enhance the integration of technology into events and event planning.  Requires availability to work extended hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Provide a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and other alternatives deemed appropriated by the Executive Director.

 

Summary

 

This position is responsible for the management, development, and planning of special events/digital experiences at each of the Region 19 conference centers.  This position coordinates and manages a portfolio of clients, accounts, and budgets as related to special events management.  Coordinates and communicates with facilities, media services, technology services, and other staff as needed for successful event planning and promotions.  Produces billable revenue for services. Provides coordination of region-wide special events projects for the community, private sector, educational entities, and other national and international clients.
