Summary

 Plays a leadership role in the early child development and success of all Head Start students by implementing the Head Start curriculum.  Demonstrating instructional leadership, this educator positively impacts the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a culture and classroom environment conducive to learning and early childhood development.  The focus of this position, although not limited to this, is impacting early childhood development at the center level and preparing children with school readiness skills.

Qualifications

 

 The qualifying skills required for this position are as follows: Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field; bilingual (English/Spanish); Food Handler’s card (preferred), First Aid/CPR certification (preferred); at least one year experience working with pre-school children; experience in developing lesson plans and instructional activities (preferred); NOTE: Staff members must continue their educational advancement toward their bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development  by taking coursework each fall and spring semester until completion of their degree);  or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
