Data Analysis and Evaluation Specialist, Head Start 2022-2023 Pool
The Data Analysis and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing effective processes and procedures to collect, analyze, interpret, and disseminate children/ family and program data. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data using mixed research methods; manage large amounts of data using several data management solutions and technology applications; conduct research through computer searches of databases and the internet; perform data analysis by applying basic statistics using software program packages like MS Excel or SPSS; write and prepare technical reports describing the results/findings for stakeholders; assist in the development and implementation of evaluation methods such as surveys and focus group interviews; conduct mapping tasks using GIS software programs; and provide technical support on data requests and information systems related issues. The individual in this position will need to understand reporting regulations in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, industry standards and practices, and any regulatory entities.
The qualifying skills for this position are as follows: Associate of Arts Degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related field, Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with experience in research processes and program evaluation; Must possess basic knowledge of evaluation design and methods; knowledge of statistics and ability to use both quantitative and qualitative methods for data analysis and interpretation; ability to work with technology applications, software programs and data management solutions; experience working with large datasets; must possess critical and analytical skills; experience and skills in the use of statistical software packages for data analysis such as MS Excel and/or SPSS and experience in using tableau, looker or similar visualization software. A background in science education or statistics is a plus but not mandatory; public relations and people skills; training skills; technical writing skills; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
