Professional Development Consultant, Elementary



This position will promote supplementary support in the areas of alternative certification, college readiness and college access,  involving teachers, school counselors, administrators, parents, and others in promoting the educational success of students. It will also promote supplementary support in the Texas Education Agency initiatives to build capacity in facilitating LEAs through the implementation of high quality, sustainable residencies via innovative staffing models. This position is responsible for understanding all components of college readiness in conjunction with instructional and behavioral systems that correlate with high student engagement and achievement. 




This position requires a Masters’ Degree, a Texas Teaching Certification EC-6, and a minimum of three years' teaching experience in an elementary setting. Knowledge base in the area of assisting new teachers, to include curriculum development and instruction, skills in developing and delivering continuing education and training. Understanding of TEKS Resource System, all related components and effective implementation, preferred. Necessitates effective communication skills and effective interpersonal skills to ensure the delivery of quality products, entails the ability to work in teams and be highly functional in cooperative endeavors. Must be task oriented, have excellent relationship-building skills, have organizational skills, computer knowledge/abilities to enhance the integration of technology into curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Must have strong project management, process facilitation, and coordination skills. Familiarity and direct prior experience with school finance and operations, particularly staffing, scheduling, and budgeting, preferred. Provide a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and other alternatives deemed appropriate by the Executive Director.
