Nutrition Facilitator, Head Start 2023-2024 Pool
Summary
The Nutrition Facilitator is responsible for assuring nutritional standards and guidelines are followed in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Must demonstrate the ability to present to staff, parents, and local districts/agencies. Must be able to monitor and implement services that are culturally and developmentally appropriate, meet nutritional needs, special dietary needs, and children with disabilities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years supervisory experience in school food service or a Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Health Science, Nutrition, Dietetics or related field and at least one (1) year experience working in any health/nutrition field (preferred); knowledge of USDA/TDA guidelines; meal pattern requirements; knowledge of Child & Adult Food Care Program (CACFP); knowledge of City Health and Sanitation codes in all areas of food service; Food Handler’s Card; skilled in the use of computers; bilingual in English and Spanish, both verbally and written; must possess a valid driver’s license; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
