Program Manager, Family Partnership & Leadership, Head Start

Summary

 

The Program Manager, Family Partnership and Leadership is responsible for leading the coordination of high quality individualized services to families and staff. This individual will take the leadership role in planning, provide support, and coordinate trainings for parents, site parent meetings, and parent committee meetings such that excellence in service delivery is assured. This person must support the Head Start program’s strategic initiatives, goals and objectives, and the service area action plans. Positive human relations and excellent communication with all parents, staff, and the community is required. The professional in this position must be attentive to details and be data driven in assuring the compliance with federal, state, and local standards. In addition, this individual must be able to facilitate communication amongst program leadership Policy Council, Center Parent Committees, ESC19, LEA’s, institutions of higher education, and community agencies. This individual also provides leadership, technical assistance, and support for the coordination and implementation of Policy Council, adult education, and development opportunities throughout the program.  The professional in this position will also be responsible for the oversight of all staff assigned. 

 

Qualifications

 

The qualifying skills for this position are as follows: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Education, Human Services, or a related field; Master’s Degree (preferred); demonstrates competency in planning and implementing staff and parent training sessions and conferences; demonstrated competency in designing and writing grants; at least two (2) years experience in an administrative and/or supervisory capacity; experience and/or knowledge of computer information systems; experience in providing virtual professional development; experience in strategic planning and Total Quality Management (preferred); possess current knowledge of early childhood educational trends; current knowledge of Head Start and/or Early Childhood Programs (preferred); demonstrates interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and writing skills; Bilingual, English and Spanish; knowledge of community resources; effective communication skills; experience working with Head Start parents (preferred); must have a valid driver’s license and insurance; must be available to work extended hours to include evenings, and weekends, or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
