Infant/Toddler Teacher, Head Start 2023-2024 Pool

Summary

 

The Infant / Toddler Teacher plays a leadership role in the child’s development and creatively implements the Early Head Start curriculum.  Demonstrating instructional leadership, this educator positively impacts the growth and development of pregnant women, infants and toddlers through nurturing, advocating and sustaining a culture and classroom environment conducive to learning.  

 

 

Qualifications

 

High school diploma or GED, State awarded Child Development Certificate or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential for Infants and Toddlers (required); or Associate Degree in Childhood Development with course work in infant and toddler development; ability to communicate clearly in both English and Spanish verbally and in writing; Food Handler’s card (preferred); First Aid/CPR certification (preferred); one to three years of experience as a child care provider for infants and toddlers; NOTE: Infant / Toddler Teacher that do not have an Associate Degree must ensure the CDA Credential is kept current and renewed 6 months prior to the expiration date of the credential. Infant/Toddler Teachers that have not obtained an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development must continue their educational advancement toward their Associate Degree with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development  by taking coursework each fall and spring semester until completion of their degree); or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
