Bus Monitor/Custodian, Head Start 2024-2025 Pool
Summary
The role of the Head Start bus monitor/custodian is to ensure the safety and welfare of children being transported to and from the Head Start and Early Head Start centers on a daily basis and maintain an environment of safety for the bus driver. The bus monitor/custodian must work cooperatively and effectively as a team with the bus driver/custodian while transporting students, parents, and staff to prevent any safety violations or potential hazards within both the bus and the center work area while complying with and exceeding the requirements of Head Start Performance Standards, Minimum Standards and all federal, state and local laws. The bus monitor/custodian will be responsible for site custodial duties when not involved in transporting children.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; experience in cleaning and maintaining a sanitary environment; bilingual (English/Spanish); First Aid/CPR certification (preferred); effective interpersonal skills (preferred); one year experience working with children; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
