Special Systems Supervisor, Head Start 2019-2020
The qualifying skills for this position are as follows: High School diploma or GED; Ten (10) years’ experience in a supervisory / management capacity overseeing building Special Systems. Specialized training and skills in emergency communications work related to police, fire/rescue, or in coordinating emergency, safety relief efforts; experience in school emergency operations planning (preferred); must have proficient computer skills and experience in writing summary reports; knowledge of Special Systems (Fire and Life Safety systems, Monitoring and Security Systems and software); bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; valid driver’s license and transportation; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience as determined by the Executive Director.
The Special Systems Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, supervision, vision, and evaluation of all Special Systems services provided to Region 19 Boeing offices and Head Start Facilities by Contractors, Emergency Service Districts, Fire Department and Region 19 maintenance department. The Special Systems Supervisor is responsible for inspecting buildings for compliance with state fire laws and for providing consultation and information to Head Start Director and Director of Facilities Maintenance and Support Services, Center Managers, Program Managers and Staff regarding laws, rules, regulations and department policy relating to fire safety and security monitoring. The Special Systems Supervisor in collaboration with Operations Program Manager and Director of Facilities Maintenance and Support Services will maintain ESC19 Head Start Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), Training and Implementation process and documentation. The Special Systems Supervisor will be responsible for the inventory of all equipment related to Fire and Life Safety and ensure compliance. Positive relations in representation of the ESC, and excellent communications with all administrative site personnel and public are required. The major task of this position is to address all Life Safety Equipment, Security Monitoring, EOP, Training and on-going center inspections. Requires 24 hour on call monitoring and response related to alarm monitoring. Requires frequent business travel within El Paso and Hudspeth counties Other job duties as assigned.
